Privacy Policy

This is a plain-English starter policy for Front Porch (readfrontporch.com) and Front Porch Florida. It is not legal advice. We will refine it as the product grows.
1. Who we are
Front Porch publishes free state morning editions on the web, as a Progressive Web App, and in our apps. Front Porch Florida is the first edition. Company: Front Porch / readfrontporch.com.

2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the porch:
- An email address if you join the free morning list at https://florida.readfrontporch.com/subscribe.
- A name, email, and note if you write us on Advertise or Send to a Friend.
- Standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages viewed) so the site stays up.
- A login cookie if you are staff signing in to the newsroom.
- If you install the PWA or app, your device may keep a local copy of pages.
You do not need an account to read the edition, the front page, this Privacy Policy, or the Terms.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Send the free Florida edition you asked for by email (CAN-SPAM: every message includes an unsubscribe link).
- Answer advertise notes and one-time friend sends.
- Operate, secure, and debug the website, PWA, and apps.
- Honor unsubscribe and deletion requests.
We do not sell your email or personal information. Joining Florida does not subscribe you to another state.
4. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies that are necessary for staff login sessions. The public edition does not require cookies. We do not run advertising trackers on the porch. If we add analytics later, we will say so on this page.
5. Email and unsubscribe
The morning list is optional. You can stop anytime from the link in a message, at https://florida.readfrontporch.com/unsubscribe, or by writing hello@readfrontporch.com. That is our CAN-SPAM unsubscribe path. Unsubscribing from email does not automatically opt you out of any separate staff-text program.
6. Apps and the PWA
The installable web edition and native apps show the same Florida paper. You can remove the app and clear site data in your browser or device settings at any time.
7. Sharing
We use vendors to deliver email. They may use your address only to send the edition you asked for. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not share personal information for third-party marketing.
8. Staff text alerts
A separate, optional staff-only text program lives at /staff. It is not the morning list. Mobile numbers collected there are not shared for marketing. Reply STOP to cancel those texts, or write hello@readfrontporch.com.
9. Children
The edition is a general-audience publication. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
10. Your choices
Email hello@readfrontporch.com to ask what we have, correct it, or delete it, except records we must keep (for example an unsubscribe). Florida residents may also ask how we collect and use personal information. We do not sell personal information.
11. Changes
We will post updates on this page with a new date. Continued use of the site after an update means you have read the new version.
